Blimey, the UK lads had a fab Barossa Valley tour

Please like and share.

Five UK lads, one a Melbourne resident decided to book a gold level Be consumed. Barossa Valley tour.

The first stop was Henschke’s Wines of Eden Valley where they were able to meet Stephen Henschke in his vintage winemaking attire, and were photographed with him holding a bottle of their famous Hill of Grace shiraz….amazing! Then it it was a full range tasting of wines at Yalumba, the boys buying some wines they said they would never have found at Dan Murphy’s. Barossa Cheese Co was next, where one of the lads showed his expertise, presently working in a cheese store in the UK.

The lovely Kirrilee,  owner of Taste Eden Valley of Angaston, went through more than 8 wines in their range, the lads loving the Eden Valley Rieslings.

IMG_0884 IMG_0903 IMG_0889 IMG_0892It was time for a gourmet BBQ lunch at Wayne’s Roenfeldt Hill vineyard. Scrumptious Apex Bakery crusty bread with a local metwurst,  olives and cheese, before an oversized black pepper kebab, loaded with juicy steak and vegetables. For sweets they loved the home made honey caramel and macadamia ice cream with fresh home grown figs, lightly poached. Of course, a bottle of the Roenfeldt Hill gold medal ZSGM washed it all down, the boys saying it was by far the best wine of the day.

A tasting at Seppeltsfield, then Kalleskes and finally, Torbreck Wines wrapped up the day, but not before getting some photos by the oldest commercial vines in the world, at Langmeil. “Blimey, we will definitely be back with our friends!” they said.

Wayne’s week is always a busy one. He runs the family vineyard, markets his wines, does the rep work in the Adelaide restaurant scene, and does some consulting work too, as well as being involved in tourism.  He has now created  ABRM – short for Adelaide Barossa Regional Minibus, along with sub- brands, Be consumed.tours, and Winemaker Tours. Whilst the key target markets are in middle to high end wine tourism, he will be providing a full range of minibus services for groups.

The Be consumed. tours range provides clients with a wonderful tourism experience, delivering on the  magnificent food and wine character/culture of our state, as depicted in the award winning Tourism SA advert – click here to see.. Barossa be consumed. Whilst the ad is focussed on the Barossa Valley, it really is an expose of the character of all wine regions of our state. South Australian wine tours are simply exhilarating!

The wine region tours on offer are like no other, in that they are led by a vigneron and small winemaker, with guests able to choose from a range of itineraries, which can include a visit and lunch in the newly fitted barrel shed or in the natural bush of Roenfeldt Hill vineyard overlooking the Barossa.

Tours of the McLaren Vale, Hills and Clare Valley regions are also part of the business. Charters are welcomed too, whereby clients can run the day, using their  own itinerary.
